Valentine's Day: Watch the 5 most romantic film proposals EVER from Sex and the City to Love Actually

Which is your favourite?

It was Valentine's Day yesterday. Take a moment to rejoice in romance and also sit down and watch some sort of soppy rom-com.
When it comes to relationships, the big screen has got it covered, especially with dramatic marriage proposals.
Loved-up monologues in the rain? Done. Clumsy foreign-language speeches? Sorted. Love songs written with the help if Billy Idol? Of course.
To celebrate the most romantic day of the year, we have rounded up the best EVER proposal scenes from films.
Let us know which you think is best by voting in our poll at the bottom or leaving a comment below. Happy Valentines Day!

When Harry Met Sally: Harry proposes to Sally (1989)

Okay, the most memorable scene in this film might be a slightly screamier moment in a certain diner, but this New Year's Eve speech comes a close second.
The proposal: "I came here tonight because when you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Pride & Prejudice: Darcy proposes to Lizzie (2005)

The music! The rain! The clothes! The posh language that we can only just about understand. Yes! Our answer is yes!
The proposal: "I love you. Please do me the honour of accepting my hand."

The Proposal: Andrew proposes to Margaret (2009)

You know, just one of those everyday situations where you pretend to be married to your boss to help her keep her US Visa and then decide you actually love her.
The proposal: "You can imagine my disappointment when I realised the woman I love was about to be kicked out of the country, so Margaret, marry me, because I'd like to date you.

The Notebook: Noah proposes to Allie (2004)

This might be one of the most argumentative proposals ever, but it's also one of the romantic. Which has NOTHING to do with the fact Ryan Gosling is involved.
The proposal: "It's not going to be easy, it's going to be really hard and we're going to have to work at this every day. But I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me every day."

Sex and the City: Big proposes to Carrie (2008)

Film 2 might have been a bit of a flop, but after six series of ups and downs, the moment Big and Carrie FINALLY got married (again) was one of the most anticipated chick flick moments ever.
The proposal: "Carrie Bradshaw, love of my life, will you marry me?"
