Woman mauled boyfriend with kitchen roll holder after penis prank backfired

Savage: Donna Hamer lashed out at boyfriend Ricky Scherzo after a joke backfired
A woman launched a savage attack on her boyfriend after his gay friend sent him a picture of a man's penis as an internet prank.
Donna Hamer sunk her teeth into Rick Scherzo's hands and beat him with a wooden kitchen roll holder pole before threatening him with his own 12 inch chef's knife, a court heard.
The attack was in reaction to a prank by Mr Scherzo's gay friend who posted a picture of a penis online.
The joke backfired as the 28-year-old hairdresser proceeded to punch her boyfriend in the face, telling him, 'You're gay', and smashed up his mobile as he tried to call police.
After the violence, Hamer posted a string of messages on Facebook falsely claiming Mr Scherzo had beaten her up.
In one mis-spelt posting she said: ''Just found out my ex is now messaging my friends on here.
"Tellin lies trying to justifie (sic) what he done. He can do what he wants now never again will he hurt.''
But she then bombarded Mr Scherzo with over 100 texts, trying to apologise and win him back.
Jealous Hamer, from Nelson, Lancs, had previously split with Mr Scherzo but had they got back together after she said she was pregnant - only for her later to claim she had miscarried at 12 weeks.
In a statement to police Mr Scherzo said: "I don't know if she as ever pregnant in the first place."
At Burnley Magistrates Court Hamer admitted assault by beating and was given a community order and must attend a course to deal with her behaviour.
She was also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £200 costs.
She is currently pregnant and while Mr Scherzo does not want a relationship with her, he does want contact with the child.

Earlier Miss Enza Geldard, prosecuting, said Hamer and Mr Scherzo started their relationship at Christmas in 2013.
In March 2014, they went on holiday together, but it didn't go well and when they returned, he told her he didn't want to see her again.
A week later, she told him she was pregnant, they got back together and Hamer moved into Mr Scherzo's flat.
He said they argued a lot "but on the whole, everything was fine."
She later told him she had lost the baby.

Outburst: Donna Hamer saw red when a gay friend sent her boyfriend a photo of a penis as a joke
Miss Geldard said around midnight on September 19 last year, the couple were both at home and the victim was chatting to his male friend, who is gay, on the computer.
As a joke, he sent Mr Scherzo a picture of a man's penis.
The prosecutor continued: "He says Donna Hamer saw this picture and has gone mad. She started calling him gay and wouldn't let it go, although he told her it was just a joke."
Miss Geldard said Hamer punched Mr Scherzo in the face and bit both his hands as he was restraining her.
She started hitting the victim again and the pair tried to calm it down.
Mr Scherzo said he was going to bed and didn't want her sleeping in the same room.
Hamer then began striking him again, he punched her in the face in self defence and she went into the kitchen, came back with the 13-inch long " kitchen roll pole," and set about him with it.
Mr Scherzo managed to grab it off her and Hamer went into the kitchen again and returned with his chef's knife, which had a 12-inch blade and a five inch handle.
She then made reference about getting back some payment for holiday flights they had earlier booked together.
Mr Scherzo said in his statement: "I panicked when I saw her with the knife.
"She held it to my chest and said: 'Are you going to get me the money tomorrow?'.
Mr Scherzo tried to sleep in the living room while Hamer was in the bedroom, but she followed him and started "kicking off again."
He said he would call the police and she grabbed his phone from his hand, cracking the screen and breaking the phone, causing £120 damage.
Mr Scherzo had continued: "In the morning I had to go to work. I told her to pack her things and get out. When I got home she gave me the keys and left.
"That night she placed it all over Facebook that I have beaten her up. I have blocked her so I couldn't see it, but my friends told me about it."
  Donna Hamer
Mr Scherzo said in his statement Hamer texted him all week and he received 102 messages which he had deleted.
She had tried to apologise, but he wasn't having it, as she had had "too many chances."
Hamer had also been messaging his friends.
He told police: "I just want her to leave me alone and stop texting and threatening me. I want to move on with my life and just want her to do the same."
Miss Geldard told the court: "He says there is no future for him and Donna as a couple but he wants involvement in his child's life."
In mitigation defence lawyer Kamran Yousaf said the incident was fuelled by alcohol and added: "Clearly, she was aggrieved when she saw that image on the computer and confronted him.
"She found it offensive and disgusting, but she acted wrongly. She shouldn't have done what she did.
"She was clearly angry. She admits assaulting the complainant in order to prevent him from assaulting her.
"She didn't intend to injure him. She used these weapons to threaten and intimidate the victim.
"Since this incident she has stopped drinking, because of the incident and because she's pregnant.
"She is remorseful and regrets this incident."
Sentencing, JP David Bennett told Hamer: "This was a serious offence and concerned us somewhat because of the nature of the offending, it was in alcohol and the presence of weapons.
"There is always an enormous risk and the consequences can be horrendous."
