University of Ibadan has just shut down. The VC, Professor Idowu Olayinka declared that the University has been shut down indefinitely till further notice. All students are expected to leave their hall of residence by 4:00 Pm today.
The VC took to Diamond F.M to make this announcement.
This is a result of a widely coordinated protest held at the University on the yesterday by the National Association of Nigerian Students (Oyo State Chapter). The protest was done in solidarity with a student known as MOTE whom students claimed the University unjustly suspended for a semester for Gross Misconduct.

This massive protest continued in the morning, with certain individuals with masks on involved in the protest.
As at the time of posting this, the students are still on a rampage across the campus.
