Food Hacks That Will Make Your Food Last Longer!

#1 Cake Storage


When there's left over cake, keep it from getting hard and stale by securing the "cut" area with sliced bread and toothpicks.


#2 Longer Lasting Eggs


To keep eggs fresh longer, simply rub their shells with vegetable oil. They'll last an additional 3 to 4 weeks!


#3 Easy Ginger Root Peel


Smooth off lumps on ginger root by peeling them off with a spoon. This method also allows for "zero waste", and that's a good thing.


#4 Lemon Juice


When preparing a recipe that calls for lemon juice, simply puncture the rind with a toothpick and gently squeeze out what you need. Afterwards cover the holes with tape and store in the fridge for layer use.

#5 Mayo Jar & Salad Dressing


When your mayo runs down to its end, simply add oil, vinegar, herbs and spices into its jar and shake. It's an instant creamy salad dressing that also cleans out the mayo jar for you to recycle!

#6 Onions & Garlic


Store onions and garlic in brown paper bags with holes, they'll stay fresh up to as long as two months without molding!

#7 Potato Storage


When storing apples with potatoes, the ethylene gas from the apples will keep potatoes from sprouting.
