Celebrities react to US presidential debate as Hillary Clinton takes on Donald Trump

Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton went head-to-head on Monday night in their first live televised debate in New York.

More than 100million people are thought to have tuned into the debate in the US alone - countless famous faces among them.

Staunch Hillary Clinton supporter Katy Perry live tweeted the debate, posting dozens of quotes from the Democrat candidate.

"She's smiling with ease cause #shesgothis #ImWithHer #debatenight," she wrote. "This is like watching a frog sitting in water that is boiling slowly."


US TV host Chelsea Handler, like so many others, quickly picked up on Donald Trump's sniffing.
