Police have revealed they were called out to watch a father smack his daughter's bottom as a punishment because he was worried about being accused of child abuse
A dad called out police to supervise him giving a punishment smacking to his daughter to make sure he didn't break the law.
The dad wanted to discipline the 12-year-old for getting into a heated argument with her sister.
An officer went to the family's home to watch the youngster being spanked on the bottom by her dad.
And Sheriff Noel Stephen from Okeechobee, Florida, revealed that it was not the first time the Sheriff's Office had been asked to be present.
He said that he has personally supervised approximately 12 spankings where the parent has been worried about being accused of child abuse.
Sheriff Stephen said: "It's definitely not something we advise to do, and even though law enforcement has been willing to help out in this situation, watching a parent discipline their child is something that’s done only when a deputy has no other calls to handle"
