Style 1: Style A Low Bun
1) Separate a few thick strands from the top of your head (where your part naturally ends) and tease by brushing the hair up toward your head.
2) Pull your hair down, styling it into a low pony tail.
3) Fluff up the teased part of your hair.
4) Now that you have a voluminous low ponytail use a hair tie to keep it in place.
5) Separate the hair of your pony tail in half, tease the upper half.
6) Use the lower half (the un-teased hair) and flip over the top or your teased bun.
7) Wrap hair around the base of your bun and pin it in place.
8) Style any loose strands.
Style 2: A Knotted Hairstyle
This style is super easy to achieve.
First, pull your hair into two low pigtails.
Divide each side into two pieces and tie as many knots as your length will allow for (best to do four on each side).
Pull the pieces upwards as you tie the knots. Before pinning, use your fingers to loosen each knot.
Secure with as many bobby pins as needed. Don't use any hairspray, unless you have extra fine hair.
Style 3: Natural Hair Waves
Waving hair using this simple method is fun because you can skip the hairdryer and wear two hairstyles. The first is to sport the Princess Leia double bun by day, and by evening undo your hair into a cascade of natural waves for going out. Tip: for extra body and fullness, dissolve a pinch salt in hot water and let cool before applying, you'll look like you spent a day at the beach!
Style 4: Maiden Braids
Steps 1-2) Braid two strands on each side of a center part.
Steps 3-5) Wrap braids around the crown of your head and pin in place with one pin each.
Step 6) Arrange braids so that they cover the front of your head like a headband. Pin into place more securely until you feel comfortable.
Steps 7-8) Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail and pin it into a cute messy bun.
Step 9) Add final pins and spray.
Style 5: Glamorous Side Bun
Going out somewhere special? This style might require a friend to help you divvy up the back of your hair in parts, but the results are so worth it! The look is very sleek and polished, but adding a few flowers or hair jewels will give it a more dressy or whimsical touch.
Style 6: Wild Curls
No hot rollers needed here, but if you have the time, this is a spin-off of the old fashion pin curl with added curling product, like a gel for styling. Also if you're going out with the pinned buns, you may be reminded of musician Bjork in the 90s. Still very cool!
Style 7: Styling A 'Topsy Tail'
The main idea here to achieve the "woven" look, is to first heat curl your hair with medium sized curlers. This will make the style appear fuller than it actually is! Follow the diagram below, it's super fast to create and super cute!
Style 8: Messy Braid
1) French braid hair from the back to the side.
2) Use a hair elastic to tie a side ponytail.
3) Using a comb, tease the ponytail as much as possible.
4) Braid the teased hair into a regular braid.
5) Pull the braid so that it's uneven and loose. Cut the hair elastic off. . . Careful not to cut any hair!
