Paul Walker's father now suing Porsche
Paul Walker's father is suing Porsche over the car crashed that claimed his son's life two years ago.
The
Fast & Furious actor died in the fatal accident in 2013, and now
his dad - the executer of his son's estate - has started legal action
against the company.
He has claimed that the Carrera GT his son
was a passenger in lacked safety features that could have saved his life
- including door reinforcements, a stability-controlled system and a
breakaway fuel line to stop the car from bursting into flames following a
collision.
Paul Walker tragically died in 2013
Walker's father is seeking unspecified damages - and it comes a week after Porsche responded to a wrongful death lawsuit from his daughter Meadow Rain .
In
a seven-page defence of the earlier lawsuit, the car manufacturer
stated he was aware of the "risk, perils and danger" involved in driving
in the car.
, reportedly saying "the subject 2005 Carrera GT was abused and
altered". They added that the car was "misused and improperly
maintained."
Paul and his daughter were very close
However, Meadow's attorney Jeff Milam responded: "If Porsche
had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have
survived, he would be filming Fast and Furious 8, and Meadow Walker
would have the father she adored."
None of the cases have been set for trial.
Paul
tragically died two years ago in Santa Clarita, California when his
friend Roger Rodas lost control of the Carrera GT they were travelling
in and hit a concrete lamppost, followed by two trees, before the car
went up in flames.
Ludacris was "ready to slap the hell outta somebody" after hearing Paul Walker jokes made during Justin Bieber's roast.
The rapper - who stars alongside the late actor in Fast & Furious
7 - has hit out after comedians joked about his friend's fatal car
crash in November 2013.
Ludacris told Dish Nation: "There were some Paul Walker jokes that were in the roast that I was definitely not feeling at all.
Ludacris with Fast & Furious 7 co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson
“And I kinda was vocal about it, and I almost didn’t make it through
the Roast because I was ready to slap the hell outta somebody. But I was
a good sport.”
The jokes have been pulled from the Comedy Central broadcast, and the star has explained while roasts are often an 'anything-goes' scenario, he didn't feel it was appropriate topic.
He said: "Let me just say this - aside from the Paul Walker jokes, I
thought it was a great roast. Nobody was safe, we were all laughing at
the jokes on ourselves and joking on everybody else.
The offensive jokes from Bieber's roast were cut from TV airing
"However, you can all agree to disagree with me, I know what was said
and I felt like it was inappropriate and I'm going to stand by that no
matter what anybody says to me.
"That was my freind. I don't give a damn if it was a roast or not, that was my friend."
One particular joke which caused outrage was from comedian Jeff Ross,
who said: "Move b***h, get out of the way, is what Paul Walker
should've told that tree. Too soon? Too fast? Too furious?"
A spokesperson for Comedy Central previously insisted the jokes would
be cut from the upcoming show, saying: "Roasts often push the limits of
good taste ... sometimes the line is discovered by crossing it. The
Paul Walker references will not be in the telecast."
