An ex-porn model has admitted trying to smuggle more than £18 million of cocaine from Britain to Australia.
Canadian Isabelle Lagace, 28, took the class A drug on board the £11,000-per-head Sea Princess cruise ship that sailed into Sydney.
She
documented her journey with dozens of social media posts taken at
stunning locations including the US, South America and Pacific.
But Australian Border Force officers were waiting when the ship docked in Sydney on the 51st day of the 68-day cruise.

Police
alleged Lagace, her travelling companion Melina Roberce, 23, and and
64-year-old fellow passenger Andre Tamine were part of a "very
well-organised syndicate" to smuggle drugs.
Australian federal police said the illegal shipment was one of the largest ever of its kind, reports the Sydney Morning Herald .
The former porn model's lawyer Louis Ialenti entered the guilty plea at a courthouse in Sydney on her behalf.

The 95kg of drugs were worth $31 million in Australian dollars and were spread across four suitcases.
The
cruise began in Southampton and the social media posts show Lagace and
Roberce at locations including New York, Bermuda, Ecuador, Tahiti,
Colombia, Peru and New Zealand.
The maximum penalty for smuggling cocaine in Australia is life imprisonment.
Roberce and Tamine have not entered pleas yet.
Little Poppy Widdison died on the sofa of the flat in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, after ingesting a variety of drugs in the lead up to her death.
Pyke and Rytting encouraged Poppy to eat sedatives because they felt she was getting in the way of their relationship, the trial at Hull Crown Court heard.
She died in June 2013 after suffering a cardiac arrest at drug dealer Rytting's "squalid" home in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.
Tests carried out after she died found that Poppy had ingested a variety of drugs for a period of up to six months before her death, including sedatives, heroin, methadone and ketamine.
Text messages between Pyke and Rytting talked about Poppy having a "blue Smartie" - believed to be a reference to the sedative diazepam in the form of a blue tablet - and going to sleep.
David Gordon, prosecuting, told the jury earlier in the three-week trial:
"We say Pyke and Rytting, the defendants, are just wanting to get on with their love life, wanting to enjoy each other's company and it may be this young girl was something of an encumbrance.
"It's apparent from the text messages that Miss Pyke viewed Poppy as an inconvenience, who she felt was in the way with regards her relationship with Mr Rytting."
An ambulance was called to Rytting's home in Oliver Court on June 9, 2013 where Poppy was found to be "unresponsive, blue and not breathing".

She was taken to hospital but died the next day.
A post-mortem examination could not establish a cause of death but toxicology tests carried out on her blood and hair found various drugs and showed the young girl had been exposed to and had ingested significant amounts of heroin and methadone for a period of between two and six months before her death.
The drugs did not contribute to Poppy's death but experts agreed there was a "long period of ill-treatment and neglect by the grossly inappropriate administration of various drugs to the child by the defendants".
The trial was told that Pyke was in the process of moving into Rytting's home, where prescription and controlled drugs were "left lying around".
Both defendants pleaded guilty to child cruelty by allowing Poppy to be accommodated in a house where prescribed and controlled drugs were unsecured and within reach of the child.
Pyke, 37, also pleaded guilty to child cruelty by emotional abuse after neighbours heard her shouting at Poppy, threatening her and calling her a "little bastard".
On Friday, a jury took just over two hours to find both defendants guilty of one count of child cruelty by encouraging Poppy to ingest prescription and or controlled drugs.
Rytting, 40, who admitted one count of importing drugs and two counts of supplying controlled drugs, was also convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
They will be sentenced next year.
A count of child cruelty by assault causing bruising against both defendants was dropped by the prosecution during the trial.
Speaking after the verdicts, Detective Superintendent Umberto Cuozzo, who led the investigation for Humberside Police, said:
"Poppy was betrayed by the very people who were entrusted to keep her safe from harm.
"They put their relationship, lifestyle and drugs before her and I hope they now come forward and tell the truth about the events that led to Poppy's death in June 2013."
Mr Cuozzo described the three-and-a-half year investigation as "meticulous" and "complex".
An NSPCC spokesman urged anyone concerned about a child's welfare to contact the charity. On the Poppy case, he added:
"It defies belief that anyone would purposefully feed class A drugs to a young child who would have been looking to the adults in her life for love and attention.
"Their priority should have been keeping Poppy safe from harm but instead she was growing up in shockingly dangerous conditions.
"The distressing evidence from this trial paints a picture of a young girl who was tragically viewed as an inconvenience."
A Denver man was arrested for allegedly shooting dead a motorist who flipped him off.
David Garcia, 28, is accused of stealing an Audi TT sports car and using a gun he found in it to shoot at the car of the motorist, Miguel Baray, whom he got into the road rage incident with.
Denver police say Garcia told them he thought the bullet would go over Baray’s Honda and had not aimed at him.
Garcia was arrested and held on suspicion of first-degree murder.
A female teacher allegedly seduced two students - and it is claimed even rated them on their sexual performance.
Kelsey Leigh Gutierrez, 25, engaged in a variety of sex acts with the teenagers over 18 months, according to police .
She was sacked from her job as an English teacher at Santa Fe High School in Texas, USA, on November 18 after the claims emerged.
She now faces three charges of having an improper relationship with a student.
Local TV station KPRC 2 News said court documents alleged Gutierrez met with an 18-year-old Santa Fe High School student at about midnight on November 12 in the car park of the male student's residence.
It is claimed they kissed in the front seat of her car before climbing into the back seat to have sex.
Four days later Gutierrez went to the student's residence and they had sex in his bedroom, court records allege.
Investigators said the teacher admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student, adding they had found evidence on both of their phones about meeting times and the student's sexual performance.
The court documents also detail a 2015 relationship with another school student.
In May last year, the teacher is said to have picked up the second student in her car and they drove him to a petrol station car park, where they kissed.
A few weeks later Gutierrez picked up the teenager and parked on the side of the road, where they kissed in her car, it is claimed.
The two met again at the student's residence, investigators said.
The teacher started working at the school at the beginning of the 2014 school year.
She was held in custody in lieu of payment of a $45,000 (£36,000) bail but has since been released.
In a statement, the school said: "Santa Fe Independent School District became aware that a former high school teacher was arrested Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, in connection with allegations that she may have engaged in an improper relationship with a student.
"As soon as the District learned of the allegations, an internal investigation began including campus administrators and the District police department, and the teacher's employment with the District ended.
"We want you to know that we take very seriously any concerns that relate to the well-being of each of our students and our first priority is the safety and education of our students in our district.
"We will continue to work in cooperation with law enforcement and the District Attorney's office. Inappropriate actions by teachers will never be acceptable in this district."
The allegations against Gutierrez emerged following a tip-off to authorities.
Police paraded a female student of Imo State University for allegedly arranging her kidnap, to extort money from her family.
The suspect, who gave her name to the police as Chinwendu Udensi, however, told reporters that she is Miss Jennet Okoro. She said she is from Imo State.
Also paraded were the three men that perfected the plan. Thirty-three other suspects were also paraded for offences ranging from cultism to robbery, car snatching, kidnapping, among others.
The police commissioner said Miss Udensi plotted her kidnap and demanded N6 million ransom from her parents.
He said she was, however, exposed when she sent one of her accomplices to pick the ransom on Obiri Ikerre flyover at Obio Akpor.
Odesanya said: “On November 6 about 4pm, Chinwendu Udensi, a female student of Imo State University, was kidnapped by gunmen in Imo State.
“The kidnappers called and demanded N6million ransom. Men of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit led by Ben Igweh set a bait for them and as they went to pick the money on Obiri Ikwerre flyover in company of the victim, they were arrested.
“It was later discovered that the victim connived with them and arranged her kidnap to extort money from her parents.”
In an interview with reporters, the suspect, who claimed to be a student of of Abia State University, Uturu Okigwe in Abia State admitted the crime.
She said she did it to get money from her wealthy but stingy father.
Her words: “Nothing much happened. I wanted to collect money from my family, so I faked my kidnap. I did it to continue my schooling.”
Asked if her parents did not take care of her, she answered in the affirmative.
Regretting her action, Chinwendu said: “I’m not happy about my present condition because I never thought it will be like this.
“I sincerely apologise to my family for the trauma I might have caused them in a bid to extort money from them for my project and other requirements. To my friends out there, my advice is that they should not involve themselves in such a crime.”
A video clip reportedly filmed in the Mexican state of Jalisco, have shown how local vigilantes severed the hands of seven suspected thieves, as two of the terrified men and one woman were seen bound and gagged as they roll around on the floor.
According to Dailymail, a person can be heard in the background of the video saying: ‘An ambulance is coming, an ambulance is coming, you have to stay here.’
A police officer is also heard asking the men: ‘Where are you from?’ One of the alleged thieves then replies: ‘We haven’t eaten anything for four days.’
The man lying on the ground is asked why he was kidnapped, but he makes no reply. One of the victims reportedly died before he could get medical treatment and the other six were in critical condition in hospital.
Prosecutor Eduardo Almaguer Ramirez from Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, later confirmed that all of those attacked had criminal records for crimes including robbery and drug dealing.
Local media reported that the reason for the attach was ‘vigilante justice’, and the latest in a string of similar attacks on people accused of being involved in crime.
A wicked mum who brutally murdered her eight-year-old son after he allegedly discovered she was having an affair with his grandfather has been jailed.
Vicious Veronica Panarello throttled her son Loris Stival with electrical cables and abandoned his body in a remote gully after he found out about the fling.
The “manipulative” mum wept as she was jailed for 30 years at a court in Italy on Monday.
Panarello, 28, had tried to pretend her son had been abducted to cover up the horrendous killing in November 2014.
She told Italian police in Santa Croce, Sicily, she had taken him to school and that he had disappeared by the time she came to collect him in the afternoon.
Officers began to suspect the boy’s mother, judge Andrea Reale was told, when CCTV footage at the school did not back up her story.
The boy’s body was eventually found by a hunter. He had suffered a severe head wound.
She was found guilty of the boy’s murder and of concealing a body.
Prosecutors branded her an “egocentric, manipulative liar”.
When Panarello finally confessed that her son had been killed and blamed her husband’s father Andrea Stival.
She told an earlier court hearing that he had helped to plot and then carried out the murder because Loris had caught them having sex.
Mr Stival has denied the claim and is threatening to sue his daughter-in-law for slander, it has emerged.
A priest who allegedly sexually abused a five-year-old girl was caught when her parents found horrific drawings the youngster had created seemingly depicting the sex attacks .
Father Joao da Silva, 54, is accused of launching the horrifying attacks on the girl - who was a student in a class he taught.
The girl's parents found the shocking images after their daughter suddenly refused to attend any more of da Silva’s English classes.
She was so distraught that they took her to a child psychologist who suspected sexual abuse and urged her parents to search her room for any signs.
Hidden among her books they found six heartbreaking drawings done by their daughter detailing the alleged sexual abuse in horrific detail.
One drawing shows a man apparently aroused looming over a child with a look of abject terror on her face.
Another harrowing image apparently shows a girl lying on a bed with a man forcing himself between her legs.
Underneath him the girl can apparently be seen to be screaming in either fear or agony.
The father then confronted the priest and then reported him to police.
Karine Maia - from the Delegation for Stopping Crimes Against Women pressure group - told local media: "We found six drawings among the child’s belongings."
She added: "One of them that caught our attention shows the face of a naked man with an erect penis."
Police say the priest is in custody being interviewed over child abuse charges.
A Saudi Arabian prince has been executed for shooting dead a man during a brawl three years ago in the capital Riyadh, the interior ministry has said.
Prince Turki bin Saud al-Kabir was put to death in the capital. No details were given as to how he was executed - most condemned people are beheaded.
The prince is the 134th person to be put to death this year, according to a list compiled by the AFP news agency.
But it is rare for royal family members to be executed, correspondents say.
The prince had pleaded guilty to shooting his compatriot, the interior ministry statement said.
Announcing the execution, the ministry said it would assure everyone the government was "keen to preserve security and achieve justice".
The victim's family refused offers of "blood money" by which they would receive financial compensation in return for not demanding the death sentence, Al-Arabiya reported.
One of the most well-known cases of a Saudi royal being executed was that of Faisal bin Musaid al Saud, who assassinated his uncle, King Faisal, in 1975.
Most people executed in Saudi Arabia are convicted for murder and drug trafficking although nearly 50 people were put to death for "terrorism" on a single day in January including the prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
A teenager has been locked-up after she admitted having sex with a vulnerable schoolboy some 70 times.
Deleah Poulton engaged in regular sex sessions with the boy when she was 17 and 18 and he was just 13 or 14.
Poulton, now 19, from Eastville Avenue in Rhyl, admitted five charges of sexual activity with a child covering intercourse and oral sex.
The defendant, who was described as vulnerable and was said to have been feeling sad for as long as she could remember, wept as she was given 16 months in a youth offender’s institute.
According to the Daily Post , Judge Niclas Parry said there may be an assumption held by parts of society that the offences were not so serious when the defendant was female and the victim was male.
“In fact, the law quite properly draws no such distinction,” he said.
Sexual activity was “extremely regular” and the complainant’s best estimate was that it happened 70 times, the court heard.
Sometimes sex would occur after alcohol was purchased by her and consumed by the two of them, but the judge said that it was not used as an inducement.
She should understand that the sentences for such offences could be five years, he said.
But there was no violence, no threats, and no suggestion that the victim was anything but compliant and willing throughout.
“The law is there to protect young children from themselves as much as anything else,” Judge Parry said.
Her personal gratification came above any thought for the welfare of the young boy involved, he said.
Judge Parry said Poulton was a young woman of no previous convictions, naive, lacking in social skills, and something of a sad individual.
She must register with the police as a sex offender for 10 years, and a 10-year sexual harm prevention order was made under which she is not to have any unsupervised contact with boys under the age of 16.
Prosecuting barrister Michael Whitty said the boy was now getting on with his life.
Last year, he disclosed to his mother that he had been in a sexual relationship with the woman. No contraception was used.
They had sex at his home, at her home, and also outside.
Texts of a sexual nature were found on her phone.
In a victim impact statement, the boy said that he had experienced a range of emotions as a result of what happened.
Defending barrister Matthew Dunford said Poulton was only 17 when it began and it was clear that she had low self-esteem.
At the time, she believed that she was in love with the boy and believed that the feelings were reciprocated, he said.
Police in the western Indian city of Thane have arrested more than 750 people suspected of defrauding US citizens from a fake call centre.
Officers say the suspects obtained lists of US tax defaulters and used threats to obtain their bank details.
The scam is said to have netted more than $150,000 (£118,000) a day, making it one of the biggest frauds in India's history.
Thane police officials said they were contacting the FBI to ask for help.
Some 70 of those detained were formally arrested, police said, with the rest released pending further inquiries. Nine people believed to have led the scam have been identified.
The scammers pretended to be members of the US Internal Revenue Service, and told victims they owed back taxes.
In some cases, the victims were duped into buying gift vouchers from different companies and bullied into revealing voucher ID numbers, police said.
The scammers then made purchases with the voucher numbers.
Police say those involved in the scam at the Indian end retained 70% of the earnings, with 30% going to their US collaborators.
Paramvir Singh, the police commissioner of Thane, told reporters that 851 hard disks, high-end servers, and other electronic equipment had been seized.
Mr Singh said overnight raids on Wednesday had lasted well into the morning, and involved more than 200 policemen who had raided buildings in three locations in the city.
Thane police superintendent Mahesh Patil told BBC Hindi that the investigation could open up cases from other countries as well.
A US State Department official said: "We have seen reports and are following the situation closely to confirm any US citizen involvement. We would refer you to the local Indian authorities for further details on the case."
Two policemen were killed on Tuesday at Hawan Kibo along the Jos-Abuja Road after armed robbers attacked a bullion van belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
News correspondent gathered that the bullion van and the policemen had left Jos in the early hours of Tuesday en route to Abuja.
It was learnt that after a military checkpoint along Hawan Kibo, the robbers, who were in military uniforms, emerged from a bush and engaged the police team in a shootout.
It was gathered that during the exchange of gunfire, two policemen were killed.
One of the deceased policemen was identified as Sergeant Anthony Jawa, of the Police Mobile Force, Unit 8, Jos.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, who confirmed the incident, said he had yet to receive the full report from the Riyom Police Division.
He said, “Some policemen were killed, but we do not have their number yet.”
It was learnt that the CBN bullion van had been taken to the Federal Road Safety Commission office, in Riyom, as of press time.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said the church does not want justice for its slain member, Mrs. Eunice Olawale.
Adeboye said the church was only interested in the salvation of the souls of the killers.
Eunice, a mother of seven, was murdered while preaching the gospel in Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja around 5am on Saturday.
Adeboye, who was on his way to Lagos after a crusade in Abuja, paid a condolence visit to the family at their Gbazango Estate, Kubwa residence around 6am on Tuesday.
While praying for the family of the deceased, he said, “Lord, we just want to say thank you. We pray that you will keep this family in your hand, and that you will be with them. We pray you will comfort and defend them. They too will finish well. We are praying that all the perpetrators of this crime will be found. We are not asking for justice, we are only praying that you will save their souls. It will be glorious if they can come and testify that ‘before we were murderers, but now, we are pastors.’
“As for these little children, give them wisdom; let them succeed and excel. As for the church, you will comfort us. As a result of what had happened, instead of decrease, increase your church. Stand by them and keep away evil from them.”
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has called for a “thorough” investigation into the killing of Olawale by unknown persons.
In a resolution the House passed in Abuja on Tuesday, lawmakers asked the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to investigate the attack and to ensure that the killers were brought to justice.
The motion on the killing was moved by a lawmaker from Ondo State, Mr. Babatunde Kolawole, under matters of urgent public importance.
Lawmakers also asked the IG to deploy more policemen in Kubwa and environs.
The resolution added, “We urge the FCT administration to demolish all shanties across FCT in which miscreants are said to be hiding and from which they attack innocent citizens.”
The session was presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara.
Members passed the motion in a unanimous voice vote and observed a minute’s silence in honour of the late evangelist.
Also, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has condemned the gruesome murder of Olawale.
The PFN in a statement signed by its National President, Dr. Felix Omobude, on Tuesday described the murder as a wicked and barbaric act perpetrated by intolerant persons.
While sympathising with the family of the deceased pastor and the RCCG, Omobude called on law enforcement agents to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act face the full wrath of the law.
The PFN president, however, urged all Christians to remain calm and continue to have faith in the Nigerian project.
He further called on all Christians to continue to be fervent in their prayers for religious harmony and a better nation.
A teenager was stabbed in death in Notting Hill in front of horrified tourists and passers-by after fleeing from a gang of youths on bikes. The 17-year-old, named locally as Fola Orebiyi, collapsed and bled to death in Portobello Road last night just yards from busy pubs and restaurants.
Drinkers and staff from the near-by Portobello Star pub rushed to help the student as he staggered down the street. Paramedics and doctors called to the stabbing attempted life saving treatment in the road but the teenager died at the scene.
Witnesses said Fola, who was studying AS levels at sixth form college, was stabbed in a street clash close to Westbourne Grove just yards from the Portobello Arts Club.
He collapsed two doors down from the shop which inspired the book store where Hugh Grant met Julia Roberts in the film Notting Hill. A fight is said to have broken out on a nearby estate before he was chased into the busy road where he was attacked in front of horrified locals and tourists.
One witness said the former Holland Park school pupil was stabbed in the neck. Witness Mark Gettleson heard the cries of staff at the pub as they tried to help the teenager as he staggered down the busy road. He eventually collapsed outside the cheese shop La Cave a Fromage opposite the “World Famous Portobello Market” sign.
He said: “I got home from the gym and heard a bit of commotion, then I heard someone scream ‘Did anybody see anything?’ I rushed to the window and police were already there talking to the poor boy who was in a bloody heap on the floor.
“There were two large pools of blood where he had staggered down the road before collapsing. People saw him fall down and try to get to his feet again. Police and paramedics tried to resuscitate him for a long time, they did everything they could.
“This will shake people around here to the core. It’s absolutely tragic another young man has died. I’m in shock and we need to get the individuals who did this off our streets. We need to understand, in a meaningful way, why our children are turning to such horrific violent acts.”
Fola was said to be studying for his AS levels at a Holland Park school after completing his GCSEs.
A cousin said Fola’s mother, who lives near-by, was “distraught” and described him as a “caring and lovely” boy.
The cousin, who declined to be named, said the sixth former had a bright future.
She said: “All we have been told is that he was stabbed in the neck … His mum is distraught. we are all struggling to understand what happened.
“There has been an outpouring of love for him because he was genuinely like that, he was a person people wanted to know and be around. “
A neighbour of the teenager told how he saw him alive less than half an hour before he was killed.
Osman Sahal, 56, said: “I saw him outside the house, everything looked normal. He looked happy enough there was nothing out of the ordinary.
“Then a bit later the police arrived and the news hit us. His mother was obviously devastated and we can’t believe it, we are in shock.
“He was a nice boy and very considerate none of us can understand how this could have happened.
“As far as I knew he was never in trouble I suppose we must now wait for the police to investigate.”
The teenager’s mother was today being comforted by family members at their two story house which is just minutes away from the crime scene.
Fola’s mother said she was too upset to speak. Flanked by family members comforting her he said: “I can’t speak to anyone at the moment.”
Close friend Jermaine Farrell paid tribute to a “smart funny” boy who he got to know at secondary school.
He said: “He was a good kid. I’m absolutely distraught. I never associated Fola with any violence like that. Too many kids out here these days getting killed for such stupidness. “
Tributes on social media, where friends posted pictures of him in his school uniform laughing and joking with friends.
Former college student who gave birth in her sorority house last year was on Monday, June 27, sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing the newborn by throwing her in the trash.
Emile Weaver, 21, of Clarington was found guilty by a jury last month of aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors said Weaver gave birth in a bathroom at the Delta Gamma Theta sorority at Muskingum University on April 22, 2015, then purposefully caused the death of her baby.
The baby girl died from asphyxiation after Weaver put her in a plastic trash bag and left the bag outside the sorority house.
Weaver testified at trial that she had been in denial about the pregnancy and thought the baby was already dead when she put the newborn in the trash bag. She tearfully apologized in court and said she will appeal the sentence.
Judge Mark Fleegle could have sentenced Weaver to life with a chance for parole in as little as 20 years, which was requested by her attorney, but the judge said he wasn't convinced she was remorseful.
Fleegle referred to text messages from Weaver sent afterward to the man she thought was the baby's father that said, "No more baby," followed by "taken care of."
Prosecutors said at trial that Weaver knew she was pregnant all along and engaged in risky behaviors like drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and playing in a dodgeball tournament because she never intended to keep the baby.
Weaver wrote in a letter to Fleegle before her sentencing that she didn't fully comprehend her actions until she was staring at the body of the baby, who was named Addison, in a tiny casket at her funeral.
"I ask God for forgiveness, and today, all I can do is ask for all of yours," she said in court.
At the beginning of the trial, Weaver had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but the judge ruled that she was mentally competent.
Muskingum County Prosecutor D. Michael Haddox said he was satisfied with the sentence.
"We believe justice has been served as best as humanly possible," he said.
A high-flying university student who lied to police about being strangled and beaten by her ex boyfriend has been jailed for 15 months.
Natasha Uttamsingh faked medical evidence after Aakash Andrews ended their relationship.
The single mother also sent a text to herself from Andrews' phone saying heraped her – but was rumbled by police.
Uttamsingh, who was part way through a midwifery course, was determined to keep her older boyfriend in her life when he said he wanted to split up.
She threatened to ruin his career before calling thepoliceand saying he had beaten her.
Mr Andrews was arrested and taken away from the flat they shared – but detectives realised Uttamsingh had made up a pack of lies when she claimed he had sent a text admitting to rape while the phone was not actually in his possession.
The 22-year-old also altered a medical exam form to say that police needed to investigate the made up attack.
Uttamsingh was seen by a specialist doctor who noted that she had a red mark on her neck after Mr Andrews had pushed her during the explosive row but there was nothing on the report to suggest she had been raped or beaten.
Months later she took the report and changed it herself to suggest that police needed to investigate the matter.
She then took out a non molestation order against her ex partner and changed a contact in her phone to his name to make it look like he had called her 25 times.
Uttamsingh was on Tuesday jailed for 15 months for carrying out acts intended to pervert the course of justice and was given a restraining order for five years.
Prosecutor Tony Prosser said: "The relationship was experiencing problems and Aakash had said that he wanted to end it.
"When he suggested finishing it she told him she was pregnant. He said he wanted to go away for a few days.
“She stood in front of him and said she would report him for domestic assault if he were to try to leave her.
"A call was made to the police, it was reported to come from a Nicola Smith which was the defendant using a false name," said the prosecutor.
"She then made an allegation he had strangled her to the point of unconsciousness and that she was assaulted on a daily basis.
"The next day she said she had been the subject to rape."
Defending Uttamsingh, Michael Hillman claimed the 22-year-old had a personality disorder and her crimes had scuppered her prospects of becoming a midwife.
"She maintains that she was the victim of abuse but she has to acknowledge that as a result of her own conduct one will never know whether that was indeed a true complaint given the lies and the very significant lies that followed that allegation," he said.
"This is a girl who did extremely well. She got very good grades at school and was a top of the class student who started a degree in midwifery."
Uttamsingh, of The Heart, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, was jailed for 15 months after she admitted four counts of intending to pervert the course of justice at an earlier hearing. She showed no emotion as she was jailed and ordered not to approach Mr Andrews, his mother or his friends for at least five years.
Sentencing at Guildford Crown Court, Judge Christopher Critchlow, said:
"There was a false message put on his phone by you suggesting it was sent by him which indicated that he had raped you, all of which was false.
"You altered medical records from a doctor which was put before the family court in support of an application by you for a non-molestation order that you obtained. He was able to go before the court and show it should not have been made and it was rescinded.
"Then you produced false phone records on your mobile implying harassment by him.
"This was all an apparent charade.
"You have tried to influence a court by dishonestly altering medical records and tried to bring problems into Aakash Andrews' life and you have succeeded in doing that."
Uttamsingh's mother, who sat at the back of the courtroom throughout the sentencing, cried as her daughter was taken away from the dock to begin her sentence.
An Ado Ekiti Magistrate’s court on Monday remanded a 21- year old man, Olarewanju Olorunfemi and a female accomplice Sadiat Akeem, 18 for carrying out an aportion leading to the death of an 18-year-old Fumbi Taiwo.
The police prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 25 at Ilawe Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti state.
He alleged that Olorunfemi was the boyfriend of the deceased while Akeem was her friend.
According to him,the accused persons committed an offence contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State. 2012.
He added that he had duplicated and sent their case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
The plea of the accused were not taken as their counsel, Mr Tunde Olayemi, sought for a date of adjournment pending the advice of DPP.
Magistrate Ropo Adegboye consequently ordered the remand of the duo in prison and adjourned the case till June 22 for further hearing.
The Northern chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has condemned the killing of a 74-year old Igbo market woman, Mrs Bridget Agbahime, accused of blaspheming Prophet Mohammed by irate mobs in Kano State.
The body noted that the killing of Christians using flimsy excuses was unacceptable.
The Northern CAN warned that such act, which it described as barbaric must henceforth stop.
They urged the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi to call their people to order.
The Christian body wondered why such gruesome and barbaric incident always feature in Kano, a foremost commercial city in the country.
“Why must it always be Kano State. This is not telling good of the state known to be a commercial city,” the Public Relations Officer of Northern CAN, Reverend John Hayab, told newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday in reaction to the incident.
Hayab noted that information made available to the group indicated that the late Mrs Agbahime was deliberately killed.
Besides, he said, the late woman was over 70 years and not 45 as widely reported, wondering how children of the deceased would forever live with such barbaric act meted out to their mother.
The CAN spokesman, therefore, called on the state government to, apart from arresting the key suspect, fish out other perpetrators and prosecute them in accordance with the law of the country.
The religious body also called on Islamic leaders to teach their followers on how to tolerate other faith, noting that on their parts, christian leaders had always taught their followers on the need to respect other religion.
The Northern CAN, also called on the police to at all times, carry out their constitutonal role of safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians without fear or favour.
The CAN’s spokesman said: “We got it on good authority that the slained woman never blasphemed the Prophet Mohammed. That the mastermind of the killing, was fond of always provoking the deceased and so, on that fateful day, we learnt, the said man was doing ablution in front of the woman’s shop and was cautioned. That was all. The man raised the alarm that she blasphemed Prophet Mohammed.”
The cleric added: “The man deliberately provoke the woman in question just to carry out that gruesome and barbaric acts.
“We are saying the mere arrest of the key suspect of this barbaric act was not enough. All those that perpetuated the killing of the innocent woman must be fished out and brought to book.
“The state government must go further than this and the Emir of Kano and all well- meaning citizens of Kano must come out and condemned it. This is not telling good of the area(Kano).
“We are committed to peace and stability of this country. We can’t understand why our people should killed on flimsy excuse(s).”
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said on Sunday that some robbers burgled his home in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, about two weeks ago and stole N12m cash.
Saraki, who gave the explanation in Abuja through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, also explained that the money was stolen from the Administrative Office located next door to the house.
He said, “Unknown persons broke into the safe in the Administrative Office and stole the N12m. The incident had since been reported to the police and the Kwara State Police Command is investigating the matter with a view to nailing the culprits.
“There is therefore no truth in the claim by SaharaReporters that the money ran into hundreds of millions; that it was in foreign currency or that the incident happened in Dr. Saraki’s room. The amount was simply in naira and the money has nothing to do with the Kwara State Government.”
The statement further explained that the money “does not belong to the Kwara State Government, as being insinuated by some people.”
It argued that Saraki was not a poor man before 2003 when he was elected the state governor and that it was unfortunate that some people believe that he could no longer own any money without people attributing the source of his wealth to the Kwara State Government.
The statement noted that Saraki would allow the police to do their work and unravel the person or persons behind the theft.

Police say Miss Ifeoma, who is a 200 level student of Industrial Chemistry in Delta state university (DELSU) sported a low cut, talked and dressed like a man. It took them time before they were able to believe that she was female.
She was set up at a hotel where she came to collect part payment of 25 thousand dollars from some Australians who wanted to feature Wizkid on a show in their country. When she stepped in with her companions, they swooped in on her and arrested the teen scammer.
Before then she had been posing on Facebook as Wizkid. She even registered her number as the singer and was able to successfully dupe people of almost 13 million naira.
