SHOCKER: Liverpool's Sakho fails drug test and could be banned for 2 years!

Liverpool star Mamadou Sakho could face 12-month ban for failing drugs test.

The Merseyside club confirmed that the French international is under investigation from UEFA for breaking doping regulations.

It is understood that Sakho failed the test after Liverpool’s Europa League victory over bitter rivals, Manchester United last month.

Traces of a banned fat-burning substance are believed to have been found in his sample.

Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp decided against picking him for Saturday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle until  UEFA's investigation is complete after analysis of a “B” sample on Tuesday.

26-year-old Sakho, now faces a ban of up to two years if proven guilty of the offence although similar offences have been punished with between six and 12-month penalties.

This could rule him out of France’s squad for the Euro 2016.

FIFA sent a warning to players in September 2013, telling them about the dangers of taking fat burners.

Shocking images show how drugs left young banker living on the streets before he dies at just 28

Daniel Hackett
Tragedy: Daniel was "genuinely friendly and polite"
These shocking pictures show how drugs left a young banker homeless before his death at just 28.
Daniel Hackett's grief-stricken mum has told how she helplessly watched her son’s struggle.
She has now launched an online appeal in a bid to raise cash to fund his funeral.
Seven years ago Daniel had a good job working for Lloyds TSB bank and was a young man with everything to look forward to.
However, mum Donna said he became “mixed up in the world of drugs” and soon found himself homeless in the streets of Birmingham.
Despite his family’s desperate battle to help him back on the right track, the 28-year-old could not escape his demons.
On January 17, Donna was told the devastating news that her son had died, reports the Birmingham Mail.
A post mortem is set to take place this week to establish the cause of his death.

She said: “We had a knock at the door. Two Police Officers were there.
“I just knew and said ‘he’s dead isn’t he?’”

Struggle: Daniel found himself homeless in the streets of Birmingham
She described how the family had tried everything to help Daniel - known as Danny - who grew up in the Black Country and attended Peters Hill Primary School and Thorns Community College in Brierley Hill.
She added: “We tried everything we could to get him away from this world of drugs.
“We searched the streets and did whatever we could.
“Occasionally he would call home, we even got him to visit and we would feed and clothe him.
“But he was stuck into the worst kind of drugs.”
She said she had not heard from Danny for the last two years, and the family had failed in its attempts a year ago to track him down to tell him his grandmother was dying from cancer.
Now Donna is facing an uphill battle to raise the £2,000 she needs to pay for Danny’s funeral.
Launching an appeal on website gofundme.com , she said: ”We face having to find the money to pay for the funeral, we have no savings and are not on any kind of benefits.
“My heart breaks that we are even in this position. If we can only raise a small amount that would be wonderful.
“Please find it in your hearts to do this one last thing for my son.”
Danny was a well-known face in Birmingham.
He won public support in September last year after couple Claire Carmichael and Fran Lynchwere left disgusted when he was asked to leave the Rectory Bar in the Jewellery Quarter when the pair had offered to buy the stranger a drink.
Donna’s online appeal was launched just four days ago but has already been swamped with more than 80 donations totalling over £1,500.

'Dont do Drugs' Jackie Chan warns Singapore youth

Jackie Chan was named Singapore’s first celebrity anti-drug ambassador on Thursday and the kung fu movie star sought to warn the city state’s youth to stay off illegal substances as he spoke of his son’s drug crimes.
The Hong Kong actor’s son, Jaycee Chan, was released from a Chinese jail in February after serving a six-month sentence on drugs charges. He had been formally charged last year with “the crime of sheltering others to take drugs” after testing positive for marijuana and police saying they had found 100 grams of the drug at his Beijing home.
“I would never think it would happen to my family. The day I found out I was so ashamed, I was so angry. How did that happen?” Chan said. “I was very angry but it made me more determined to be against drugs.”
Chan, named an anti-drug ambassador by Beijing in 2009, sought to deter youths who had gathered to see him at the Singapore event from involvement with drugs.
“Don’t ever think you won’t get addicted because not only are you hurting yourself ; your one drug addiction will hurt your family,” the actor said.
“In order to earn money, you’ll steal, you’ll rob. In the end, you’re hurting your country, you’re hurting your family, you’re hurting your son; it’s a domino effect.”
The younger Chan, a 32-year-old actor and singer, apologized for his actions upon his release. The use of ketamine and methamphetamine has increased in China in recent years and Beijing continues to heavily prosecute marijuana use.
