The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have both agreed to embark on their proposed industrial action as planned.
Vanguard sources revealed that both labour groups made this resolve after its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday evening.
The workers are planning to mobilise people ahead of the industrial action which is expected to commence from 12 midnight.
According to Vanguard, the unions had exhaustive deliberations on last week’s fuel hike by the federal government and consequences on the Nigerian workers and the public in general.
The source who spoke with Vanguard reportedly said:
“Our decision not to suspend the strike was further fueled by today’s injunction by the Industrial Court, restraining us from proceeding on the strike expected to begin tomorrow.”
