Capture ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and get $10 million

Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is trapped in the besieged Iraqi city of Mosul, it was claimed last night.

The second most wanted man in the world after al Qaeda ’s Ayman al-Zawahiri has a $10million bounty on his head.

He is believed to be holed up with ISIS bombmaker Fawzi Ali Nouimeh, raising fears of a network of booby-trap bombs throughout the stricken city.

Senior Kurdish official Hoshiyar Zebari said his forces had “solid” intelligence that al-Baghdadi and Nouimeh were still in the city.

It means jihadi diehards will fight with even greater ferocity to defend their stronghold against Iraqi and Kurdish forces.

It was from a mosque in Mosul that al Baghdadi declared his evil caliphate two years ago.

ISIS fighters in the city are said to be unable to pinpoint if attacks will come from the east, west or north.

As they grew more desperate, they used civilians as human shields when Iraqi and Kurdish troops opened fire on villages outside the city. Commanders said men, women and children were forced into the line of fire.

It is feared attacks on Mosul could lead to a massive exodus as the estimated 1.5 million people still living there attempt to flee.

The International Organisation for Migration said it was preparing gas masks in case of chemical attack by the jihadis.

ISIS slaughtered thousands when it took Mosul in 2014.

'I'm alive!': Brutal Boko Haram leader 'comes back from dead' with video taunting military over air strike claims

The leader of the brutal Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram has released a marathon 40-minute video message denying he had been killed or seriously injured in a military air strike.

Abubakar Shekau taunted leaders by claiming they cannot kill him 'until my time comes' and appeared to insult one by saying he had 'goat eyes'.

Boko Haram is notorious for its attacks on schools, kidnappings and suicide bombings, and last year pledged its allegiance to ISIS . Last month, Nigeria's air force said it had killed senior members of the group and that Shekau had been wounded.

Shekau, whose age is unknown, was supposedly replaced as leader in August by Abu Musab al-Barnawi, first son of the group's founder, but has maintained that he is still in charge.

In the lengthy video, posted to YouTube, he said: "To the tyrants of Nigeria in particular and the west of Africa in general, die in your anger and the news is not like as you claimed and as you distributed.

"You broadcast the news and published it in your media outlets that you injured me and killed me and here I am, telling you if God willing, you tyrants, I am fine and secured, if God willing, and nothing has hit me and I will not get killed until my time comes."

The Nigerian military has said it has killed or critically wounded Shekau multiple times in recent years, often right before someone who says they are him shoots a video denying it...

Boko Haram has killed around 15,000 people and displaced more than 2 million in a seven-year insurgency aimed at creating a state adhering to strict Islamic laws.

What happened in Nice? What we know so far after France is attacked today

At least 84 people, including 10 children, are dead after a suspected terror attack on Bastille Day celebrations in Nice, France.

A further 52 people are in a critical condition - 25 of which are in intensive care - after a lorry hit crowds who had gathered to celebrate the French national day.

France is still on alert after the Paris terror attacks on November 13, in which 130 people were killed at sites including the Bataclan Theatre and Stade de France.

What happened?

A truck ploughed into crowds on Nice's Promenade des Anglais for around a mile.

The truck driver, Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, was seen shooting from the window of the truck as he smashed into people.

The killer was then shot dead by police with pictures showing his truck riddled with bullet holes.

An ID card found in the truck belonged to the 31-year-old French man of Tunisian descent.

Authorities have confirmed that he was known to police for common law crimes, such as theft and violence, but not intelligence services.

Guns and ammunition were found in the back of the truck, suggesting a premeditated attack.

How many killed and injured?

Revised figures say 84 people have been killed and another 202 injured. Fifty two are in a critical condition with 25 of those in intensive care, according to French prosecutor Francois Molins.

Horrifyingly at least 30 of those injured are believed to be children. One of the images to emerge from the scene shows a covered body with a child's doll lying next to it.

Video and images from the scene show the crowds tightly packed as the white lorry ploughs through the middle of them.

Other sickening footage shows bloodied bodies sprawled across the road after the horrifying incident, which is being treated as a terror attack.

Who is responsible?

The killer has been identified as 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a French citizen born in Tunisia who was known to police but not on a terror watch list.

Neighbours of Bouhlel described him as “handsome” but “frightening” and said he was a loner.

And his wife’s cousin said he was a ‘drug-taking wife beater who never went to Mosque’.

He was previously convicted of road rage, according to Reuters.

The former wife of the man is currently being held by police.

Pro-ISIS Twitter accounts have posted sickening posters celebrating the attacks.

France has been in a state of high alert following a number of terror attacks claimed by ISIS on Paris and other French cities over the past year.

As yet, neither ISIS or any other terror group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

British prisons to get Jihadi Jails to keep terrorists from radicalising fellow inmates

Special ‘jihadi jails’ could be set up inside existing prisons to stop the most dangerous terrorists radicalising fellow inmates.

A major Government review has concluded Britain is at serious risk of increasing our own terror threat by keeping inmates side by side with dangerous jihadis.

Justice Secretary Michael Gove told MPs he was “sympathetic” to the plan and called for wholesale change.

Many Category ‘B’ prisons could be upgraded to the highest security to cope with the increased demand.

MPs on the Commons justice committee were told the review - which has not yet been published - found staff lacked the confidence and training to confront and deter Islamist extremist ideology on the landings, and were often fearful they would be accused of racism if they did.

There were numerous examples of literature of an extremist nature in chaplaincies, while the recruitment, training and supervision of prison imams was “seriously deficient”.

The National Offender Management Service (Noms) - the organisation tasked with dealing with the issue - lacked a coherent strategy to deal with the emerging threat, the Commons Justice committee heard.

Ian Acheson, a former prison governor who was asked to lead a review of radicalisation in jails last year, spoke of an “institutional timidity” in confronting the problem as he delivered a stark and at times highly critical assessment.

Outlining his findings for the first time, he said there was a “very poor understanding of risk” and “inadequate management of intelligence” relating to Islamist extremism.

The review found that the “extremism unit” at Noms “lacked an actual strategy to deal with extremism”.

Mr Acheson said: “I remember having a discussion with a senior director at Noms who told me, quite blithely, that the service had made no provision at all to forecast the return of jihadi fighters from Afghanistan or ISIS-controlled territory or anywhere else, because the service was, frankly, big enough to absorb that.

“I found that quite astonishing.”

US raises alarm on possible terrorists attacks in Lagos

The United States on Tuesday warned of possible attacks against expatriates and foreign visitors in Lagos, during the public holidays marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

According to The Guardian, the US issued this warning on its embassy’s website, which says “The US Mission in Nigeria advises that groups associated with terrorist activity might be planning attacks against hotels in Lagos frequented by international visitors, including those located on waterfronts, during the Eid al Fitr holidays.”

Tuesday and Wednesday have been declared public holidays in Nigeria and the traditional end of a month of fasting and prayer is marked by the celebrations across the country.

The US in its warning said it is unusually specific but not the first about possible attacks in locations frequented by expatriates.

The US Embassy’s latest warning did not mention a specific group but urged its citizens to “review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news stations for updates”.

The Nigerian Army said its troops foiled two bomb attacks by three female suicide bombers in Monguno town, Borno State on Monday July 4th. A statement by the Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman read:

"Today at about 6.15am, 3 female Boko Haram terrorists suicide bombers attempted to attack innocent Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) fetching water at a borehole located about 3 kilometres, outskirt of Monguno town along Marte road. Our vigilant troops detected and gunned them down, killing both instantly.
Unfortunately, the explosive they were strapped with exploded and injured 2 civilians nearby. The injured persons have been evacuated and are receiving medical attention at the 8 Task Force Division’s medical facility.
However, the third suicide bomber that followed a different route, detonated some distance before troops deployment along the same road at about 7.10am.

Troops have cordoned off the general area and imposed restriction of movement into Monguno while they the general area and make it safe."

Video: Istanbul Airport attack: Three suicide bombers detonate explosives killing 50 and wounding dozens

At least 28 people have reportedly been killed and dozens injured in an apparent terror attack at Turkey's biggest airport, officials have claimed.

Three suicide bombers detonated their explosives at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul after police fired shots at them, it's reported.

At least 60 people are believed to have been injured while hero taxi drivers ferried wounded people from the terminal.

Chilling footage has emerged believed to show the moment the suicide bomber blew himself up seconds after being shot by police.

Watch the bomber blow up here

The wounded attacker is seen falling to the floor before writhing around and eventually managing to detonate a suicide bomb.

An officer appeared to wrestle with the wounded bomber before running away moments before the bomb blast.

Police fired shots to try to stop the attackers just before they reached a security checkpoint at the arrivals hall of the Ataturk airport but they blew themselves up, a Turkish official said.

Anonymous hacker hacks ISIS supporters' Twitter accounts and floods profiles with graphic PORN

An Anonymous hacker is hijacking the Twitter accounts of ISIS supporters and flooding their profiles with graphic PORN.

The hacker has tweeted several pictures showing hijacked accounts which appear to be owned by Islamic State extremists who have been promoting jihadist ideology and sharing images of mutilated bodies.

Their profile pictures have been changed to images containing the slogan 'I love porn' and their cover photos replaced by a salacious image of a scantily-clad woman lay in a sexually suggestive pose.

Most of the victims appear to be based in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Syria, with pictures of their profiles before and after the takeover posted to the hacker's Twitter page.

In one tweet, the hacker writes: "#DaeshBags are sure into porn lately #This ones from #Iraq #OpDaesh #Anonymous #GhostOfNoNation."

The images they post are deemed highly offensive to ISIS supporters as they follow a strict version of Islam.

It is not known how the hacker, named only as WauchulaGhost , gained access to the accounts, or how many were targeted.

#Anonymous is included in the hacker's Twitter bio, suggesting they have links to the global hacking network.

It comes after online hackers are spammed ISIS supporters on Twitter by following them with thousands of graphic porn accounts.

The accounts, known as 'pornbots', feature nothing but graphic sexual images and are automatically generated, but almost never tweet and therefore cannot be deleted as spam.

The hackers target tweeters who use a lot of ISIS hashtags and strike rapidly, sometimes following them with several hundred accounts in just a few minutes.

One of their targets is a prolific French ISIS account, which recently shared a video of an ISIS execution of six Syrians with the caption: "Ahh, I love these videos..."

Following the latest cyber attack, Anonymous, who declared war on the jihadis after the attacks in Paris, appeared to have stepped up their campaign

Soon after the Paris terror attacks an Anonymous supporter, wearing their trademark hood and mask and speaking with a computerised voice, told listeners:

"Our freedom is once again under attack

"This cannot continue.

"Following the attacks in Paris last November, we have fought daily against terrorism and we have silenced thousands of Twitter accounts directly linked to ISIS

"We severely punish Daesh (another name for ISIS) on the dark net, hacked their electronic portfolio and stolen money from the terrorists."

The militant group controls swaths of territory in Syria and Iraq and has claimed responsibility for several major attacks in various countries, including coordinated attacks in Paris in November that killed 130 people.

Troops destroy eight Boko Haram camps in Borno

The troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed eight camps belonging to the members of the Boko Haram at Yajiwa, Alagarno Forest, Borno State.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on  Friday that troops of 156 Task Force Battalion of 29 Task Force Brigade, members of the Civilian JTF and members of local vigilante in the area, destroyed the camps during a clearance operation on Friday.

Usman said that the troops recovered several items from the insurgents which included ‘two primed  Improvised Explosive Devices, three Pressure Plates, 36 hand grenades, two Dane guns, seven motorcycles and  five empty cases of 12.7mm rounds of ammunition.’

He said that the troops also recovered a damaged mine detector, a vehicle and camel bag during the operation.

The troops were also said to have recovered ‘a vehicle top cylinder, a 19.5 tyre rim, 4-size13 tyre rims, a 19.5 rim tyre,  three tyre jacks, two motorcycle tyres and two solar panels, as well as two small generators, a grinding machine, three water pumping machines, a Namsac sprayer and  one bag of fried groundnut cake.’

He said that the recovered IEDS were successfully detonated by the Explosive Ordinance Device Team of the Army.

Desperate ISIS drops its own fighters into tank of ACID after terror group's secrets leaked

Paranoid ISIS commanders are plunging their own men into vats of ACID as part of a purge to root out informers, it has been reported.

Under-fire ISIS have executed dozens of fighters they accused of being spies after a spate of airstrikes killed senior figures in the terror group, such as ISIS second-in-command Abdul Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, also known as Haji Imam.

A senior Iraqi intelligence official said about a dozen fighters and civilians were drowned in a vat filled with acid.

It is believed some fighters have been selling intelligence to the enemies of ISIS in a desperate attempt to raise cash and flee.

Islamic State may also have committed the sickening killing to discourage defectors and those living under their brutal regime from fleeing.

As the terror group loses territory to its opponents and cash due to air strikes on oil infrastructure, many of its fighters have deserted.

Last month the jihadists reportedly forced its own terrified men into a forensic freezer and left them to die slowly.

A source said the victims were placed in a forensic medicine freezer in the ISIS stronghold of Mosul for 24 hours.

After slowly dying from the extreme cold their frozen bodies were placed at roads leading into the city to act as a warning to others.

Many killed as militants sets traps for soldiers

Two soldiers and six civilians have reportedly been killed on Wednesday’s night attack on soldiers’ houseboat around a creek close to Omadino/Idjere junction in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred between the hours of 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday.

Investigations reveal that the militants struck when some of the soldiers deployed to safe-guard oil facilities had gone on a routine patrol.

A senior military officer who confirmed the incident to our correspondent said the soldiers were taken unawares by the gunmen who fired several shots, killing all occupants of the houseboat before zooming off.

Another source said over 15 people were killed, adding that about ten soldiers were involved.

The houseboat is operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company.

The gunmen, it was gathered stormed the location with two speedboats and sank the houseboat after their operation.

Although, no militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but security sources believe it was carried out by rampaging members of the Niger Delta Avengers.

Finally: ISIS underground military base found

A warren of terror tunnels excavated by ISIS terror thugs has been discovered by Iraqi forces.

The extensive network was unveiled after the jihadis fled the outskirts of Fallujah.

One of the longest tunnels surrounded a brick factory, Hashid Shaabi fighters said.

Islamic State used the tunnels to approach, appear and escape from the front-line to reduce their casualties.

The tunnels run under streets and between houses, where the terror thugs take cover to fight their advancing enemy.

Iraqi troops have pushed towards Fallujah from the south, aiming to completely surround the Islamic State-held city, Iraq's elite counter-terrorism forces said.

"Our troops are now in the process of surrounding the city from all (sides)," said Lieutenant General Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi, the head of the counter-terrorism forces' Fallujah operation.

"By doing so, we will besiege the city of Fallujah in full. And then we will start storming the city from several directions with new forces."

Booby-trapped explosives and large numbers of civilians unable to escape are expected to complicate operations moving forward, Lt al-Saadi said.

Five people killed in bomb explosion in Borno

Five people were killed when an improvised explosive device exploded in northeast Nigeria, in a region where Boko Haram insurgents have operated for years, the country’s military said Sunday.

A rickshaw driving close to a military checkpoint on the outskirts of Biu town, Borno State, ran over the IED in the morning.

“Preliminary investigations shows that the IED was buried long time ago undetected. It exploded when the tricycle erroneously stepped on it,” Nigerian military spokesman Sani Usman said in a statement.

“The IED exploded instantly killing four persons comprising of a woman with her baby and two other male adults,” Usman said, adding that a soldier injured by the blast later died in hospital.

He added that
“the explosion would not deter us from seeing to the end of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hiding through our ongoing clearance operations.”

The Nigerian government has won back swathes of territory from the Islamist insurgents in recent months, with President Muhammadu Buhari saying in a recent speech marking his first year in office that “by the end of December 2015, all but pockets and remnants had been routed” from the northeast.

UK citizen who planned to blow up Heathrow airport gets 40 years in US jail for supporting Al-Qaeda

A UK citizen who 'planned to blow up Heathrow airport' has been jailed for 40 years in the US for supporting Al-Qaeda.

Ming Quang Pham, aka Amin, had pleaded guilty to three counts of terrorist related activity.

Born in Vietnam, he used to live in New Cross and worked in a London branch of McDonald's - but intended to commit a massacre in his home city.

He is believed to have been personally trained by an Al Qaeda leader to carry out a devastating suicide attack and bomb Heathrow Airport , US court papers claimed.

They claim Pham, 33, was instructed to wear a backpack containing the bomb and target passengers arriving from America and Israel in an arrivals hall.

He was reportedly told by Al Qaeda chief Anwar al-Awlaki, who trained him, to place metal bolts around the bomb to cause as many casualties as possible.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command in London confirmed tonight they have been liaising with their counterparts in New York over the case.

The unit said it provided key evidence that helped "shape the case" against Pham which "led to this successful prosecution".

Pham had been supporting AQAP - Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula - which is a designated foreign terrorist organisation.

Pham was instructed to target American and Israeli passengers in Heathrow Airport's arrivals hall

He pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to AQAP, one count of conspiring to receive military training from AQAP and one count of possessing and using a machine gun in furtherance of crimes of violence.

Pham was first arrested in the UK on June 29, 2012, and subsequently extradited to the US on February 26 last year.

Details of the alleged plan to blow up Heathrow Airport emerged in FBI interviews with Pham.

One FBI transcript of an interview with Pham reads: “Pham approached Awlaki and offered to conduct a suicide attack and ‘sacrifice himself’ on behalf of Al Qaeda upon his return to the United Kingdom.”

Buhari: "Military rescued 11,595 Boko Haram captives under me"

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said that the military had so far rescued 11,595 persons held captive by the Boko Haram sect between May 29, 2015 when he was inaugurated and February 2016.
He said since December 2015, the military had regained all territories hitherto occupied by the sect.

These were contained in a document entitled ‘Fact sheet on President Muhammadu Buhari’s first year in office’ made available to journalists by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

The document highlighted the achievements of the administration under categories such as security, anti-corruption war, economy, power, environment and judiciary among others.
The statement read in part,

“The relocation of the Nigerian Military Command Centre to Maiduguri, since May 2015, contributed to the success in the fight against insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.

“As of February 2016, the total number of persons rescued by the Nigerian troops during the ongoing operations in the North East came to 11,595.

“Since December 2015, the well-motivated and rejuvenated Nigerian military have regained all Nigerian territories previously under Boko Haram control."

According to the document, the present administration prioritised regional cooperation in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and violent extremism, through the operations of the 8,500 strong Multi-National Joint Task Force in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, currently headed by a Nigeria military general.
It added that Nigeria has provided $21m to the Task Force since June 2015 and is committed to an additional $79m, bringing the total of Nigeria’s commitment to the Task Force to $100m.
Another major stride of the administration, the statement stated, is the Trans National Organised Crime where the President reportedly got partnership with regional allies in the fight against the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons.
On anti-corruption war, the statement said although the campaign was gaining ground with several high profile cases already in the courts, the administration is being guided by the rule of law in the prosecution of corruption cases.
It said Buhari enlisted the support of multilateral institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, security agencies, Western countries and other friendly nations to locate and repatriate stolen assets.

EgyptAir flight MS804: Investigators probe whether 'bomb' was smuggled on plane at previous airport

Flight MS804 plunged 38,000ft into the Mediterranean after being downed by a terrorist attack, aviation experts feared last night.

All 66 passengers and crew died when the EgyptAir Airbus A320 fell out of the sky during its doomed trip from Paris to Cairo. There was no distress call before the jet vanished off the radar while flying in clear weather.

British geologist Richard Osman, 40, from Tanerdy, Carmarthenshire – who had just recently had a second child – was believed to be among the dead.

Egyptian officials said Flight MS804 made a sudden swerve to the left then to the right before diving into the sea near the Greek island of Karpathos.

One aviation analysts claimed the sharp movements could indicate there was a struggle in the cockpit before the pilot lost control at 12.30am yesterday.

But others feared the jet could have been brought down by a timer bomb planted before it arrived in Paris – similar to the one the blew up Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie in 1998.

As focus shifted towards al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula as the main suspects behind the tragedy, former UK air accident investigator Phil Giles said: “It’s a real mystery.

“But it sounds like there could have been a device, placed on the plane earlier at another airport in some kind of Lockerbie situation. It may have been placed on board at Paris, though security is very tight there.

“We may see a focus on the airside staff there in the coming days.”

The route taken by the doomed flight
Aviation expert Jean-Paul Troadec added: “There’s a strong possibility of an explosion on board from a bomb or a suicide bomber.”

But aviation analyst Paul Charles said the plane’s sudden movements before crashing point to an on board struggle. He added: “It wasn’t necessarily a device on board. It would suggest the pilot has been involved in some sort of an incident in the cockpit.”

Relatives wait for news at Cairo airport

The tragedy came just days after Islamic State terrorists, who were behind last year’s Paris massacre, issued a fresh attack warning to France.

The group had claimed responsibility for bringing down a Russian Metrojet flight 9268 that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula in October, killing all 224 on board.

EgyptAir flight MS804: 5 theories as to what caused the plane to disappear

The EgyptAir flight MS804 that crashed in the Mediterranean could have been downed by a smuggled Lockerbie-style timed bomb, it's feared.

Investigators are looking into whether a device was placed on the Airbus A320 from Paris to Cairo before it went missing with 66 people on board, including one Brit, in the early hours of this morning.

Wreckage from the plane , which had been flying 10 miles inside Egyptian airspace when it made "sudden swerves", has since been discovered near the Greek island of Karpathos.

The plane, which had previously stopped in Eritrea and Tunisia, plunged 22,000ft while spinning at 360 degrees before disappearing off radar.

Investigators are looking into whether a Lockerbie-style device was placed on the aircraft in Tunis or Asmara before it landed in Paris.

The route missing EgyptAir flight MS804 was taking

Here are five theories as to why the plane crashed:

1. A bomb was planted at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. However, this is thought to be unlikely as security there is unprecedente in the wake of the Paris attacks.

2. A very complex and sophisticated device planted in Cairo on two timers. The first timer kicks in close to take off in Egypt and starts a barometric pressure device when it lands in Paris. When the pressure decreases as the plane stars to land over the Mediterranean, a second timer goes off, causing the explosion as in the Lockerbie disaster.

3. Catastrophic engine failure .

4.Taken out by accident in a very crowded sky where Russian, Syrian, UK, American and the Arab Air Force are operating.

5.Crew or passenger initiated the bomb.

Aeronautics specialist Gerard Feldzer admitted the chances of a mechanical malfunction were slim.

He said: “It’s a modern plane, the incident happened in mid-flight in extremely stable conditions.

“The quality of the maintenance and the quality of the plane are not in question in this incident.”

Air travel expert Julian Bray said no alert being made could mean the airliner suffered a “catastrophic failure” possibly as a result of an explosion.

“There’s a lot of concentrated focus on terrorist issues around Paris,” he added.

“One has to be cautious about drawing conclusions.

“It would not have needed to be a large device - if it was a terrorist-related failure - to lose cabin pressure.”

European air traffic network manager Eurocontrol said there were no weather issues at the time of the plane losing contact.

ISIS target dating websites to lure jihadi brides in latest shocking recruitment drive

ISIS are targeting dating websites to lure jihadi brides to join their ranks, it has been claimed.

Islamic State have been prolific at exploiting online platforms to spread propaganda and encourage extremists to fight their cause in Syria and Iraq.

But now it seems not even dating websites are safe from terrorist recruiters who are trying to encourage young women to marry ISIS militants.

  <!-- adsense -->
A Jordanian Intelligence official said no online platform is out of Islamic State's reach.

He said:
"At the end of last year, we were approached by a family living near Zarqa [Jordan’s second-largest city] who believed their daughter was speaking to dangerous people online,”

"I told them, ‘Close her Twitter and Telegram,’ but they said, ‘No, it’s the dating site she is on."

The man, presumably an ISIS fighter, had got in contact with the woman via a dating site for devout Muslims.

He tried to convince her to come to Raqqa, Islamic State's de-facto capital, on the promise of riches and a husband.

One girl was targeted by an ISIS terrorist one a dating site for devout Muslims
The officer continued:
"He told her about the big house she would have and the servants.

"Her husband would be a handsome fighter … he even sent her photos of the beautiful jewelry he would buy her for her wedding nig ht."

Luckily, the daughter was prevented from joining ISIS before it was too late.

The official said: "Her case just shows you that even on dating sites ISIS is recruiting."

The internet is a major reason why ISIS have been successful, an US intelligence official said
According to U.S. intelligence, the reason ISIS have been so successful is due to their effective use of the internet.

A US intelligence officer told BuzzFeed news :
"I don’t think it is far-fetched to say that the internet is a major reason why ISIS is so successful, and so worrying, as far as global terror movements go.

"They have always been ‘good’ at the internet, at the strategy of how they use it.

"Now they are smarter at the internet too."

SHOCKER: EFCC says $15bn was stolen, not $2.1bn

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has made shocking discoveries in the course of investigating the  diversion of $2.1bn meant for prosecution of the war against terror group, Boko Haram.

It was learnt on Tuesday that the EFCC discovered that the total anti-insurgency money diverted by various personalities and agencies was over $15bn and not $2.1bn.

The $2.1bn represents the arms cash placed under the Office of the National Security Adviser, then headed by the immediate past NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).

Ex-military chiefs, including a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh (retd.); and former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (retd.), have been quizzed for their alleged roles in the arms scam.

Badeh and Dasuki are still standing trial on charges relating to the alleged fraud.

A top source at the commission who pleaded for anonymity, said the EFCC and the presidential panel on arms procurement, during investigations discovered that $2.1bn fraud was just for one of the several transactions.

The source added that the commission discovered that top military officers deliberately incorporated companies to divert anti-insurgency funds for their personal purposes.

“We have discovered that the total money in the arms scandal is over $15bn, not $1.2bn that was initially discovered. The $2.1bn was just for one transaction. Many of these military officers set up companies for the purpose of diverting money meant for the prosecution of the anti-insurgency war,” he said.

Terror Group, Boko Haram now straps bombs on Birds

The Commander of a multinational force fighting the Islamist insurgents, Maj.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, has said that Boko Haram is strapping bombs to birds as it continues to develop more deadly weapons for its bloody attacks.

Adeosun, according to The Independent, a United Kingdom newspaper,  revealed the discovery at a meeting with American diplomats and security officials.

The report added that Adeosun showed gruesome photos of the victims of Boko Haram’s attacks and their latest weapons during the briefing at the Multinational Joint Task Force’s headquarters in Chad on Wednesday.

One picture showed a bird with an explosive strapped on its back, demonstrating “a lot of ingenuity,” he said.

Adeosun said his force had received intelligence that Isis members were being imbedded with Boko Haram but that the Nigerian terrorist group had not satisfied requirements for greater operational coordination.

It was not the first report of birds being used to carry explosive devices.

Photos emerged in July last year claiming to show bombs strapped to chickens by Isis fighters in the Iraqi city of Fallujah.

There was speculation that they could be resorting to increasingly bizarre means of destruction while running out of ammunition but the account could not be verified.

The Syrian Army said Isis had rigged animals with explosives in Palmyra.

Isis is known to be unusually liberal with its use of explosives which it manufactures, using cheap chemicals and equipment readily available on the civilian market.

A Syrian officer involved in the operation to re-take the group’s former stronghold of Palmyra last month described how Jihadists had “booby-trapped everything”, including animals and trees.

Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, made a pledge of allegiance to Isis in March last year and released a message, urging its fellow sub-Saharan Jihadists to do the same, further increasing the group’s reach.

Brigadier-General Donald Bolduc, Commander of the United States Special Operations in Africa, described the surrounding Lake Chad Basin region as “ground zero” in the fight against extremism in Africa.

America, Britain and other European nations are among those supporting military intervention against Boko Haram.

More than 30 personnel from the British Army’s Royal Anglian Regiment were deployed to train Nigerian soldiers earlier this year.

“We stand united with Nigeria in its efforts to defeat the murderous Boko Haram extremists,” Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary, said at the time.

He pledged to double the number of British personnel carrying out training in Nigeria this year, sending explosives specialists, medics and an RAF training team.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has advised the members of the public to refrain from moves to organise solidarity rallies to celebrate the recent successes of the military against the Boko Haram sect in the North-East.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Thursday that while the army was not against the public’s desire to associate with the successes of the military, it would not want such solidarity rallies.

Usman said that the army authorities had received information that some people were planning to celebrate the current victories against the insurgents through rallies.

He said that it was necessary for the public to exhibit some caution as such rallies could distract the military.
